Boarding Staff

Meet our professional, caring staff

Michelle, Boarding Manager

As a child, Michelle brought home stray dogs, cats, and birds. In high school, she studied animal science courses.  She wanted to make a career working with animals, but after a two-year liberal arts program at UW-Eau Claire, Michelle found herself in the “human” medical field.

She worked as a medical receptionist, record keeper, and assistant in orthopedic surgery at a primary health facility for 20 years.  Her experience managing staff and doctors prepared her for the position of boarding manager at Pineview where she oversees 54 kennels and four cat condos, and a staff of eleven. Michelle’s duties include scheduling and overseeing kennel staff, making sure all animals are provided for, including three to four playtimes daily.  She also answers phones, makes reservations, conducts tours, and assists with checking the animals in and out of the kennels.

Michelle is certified from the Wisconsin School of Professional Pet Grooming.  She believes animals are happy if they are well taken care of in a clean, comfortable environment.  “If they are in a place they want to be, animals will want to come back, and if pets are happy, owners are happy.”  Michelle says when a dog jumps out of the car, rather than hanging back, “I know it likes being here, and that it’s being treated well.  That’s the ultimate compliment.” Michelle has an english mastiff, Karl, an australian shepherd mix, Stella, a brussels griffon mix named Sally, and her newest addition is a kitten named Lily.

Heather, Assistant Boarding Manager

Heather joined the group in August of 2007 as a kennel worker. She became the assistant boarding manager in the fall of 2008. Heather answers boarding phone calls, checks animals in and out, and helps supervise the kennel staff. She has a 3 year old shar-pei mix named Omar, and a 6 year old pug named Fanny. She prides herself in knowing that the animals she cares for are just as happy and healthy going home as they were when they arrived. Heather can't wait to see you and your pets at Pineview!
